CAPTURE - THE REAL 'HUNGER GAMES'

Imagine The Hunger Games, but in real life...

I don't usually blog about TV shows or movies that I've seen, however... when I was told about a new TV show airing in the US, I just had to watch it! CAPTURE!

Here's a short description of what I can only describe as one of my favourite TV shows ever. 

There are twelve teams of two each sporting designated 'team colours'. The teams enter a high-tech wilderness compound daily, where they must live in primitive conditions for one month in a winner-take-all battle to survive. The teams compete against each other for scarce resources and a $250,000 prize! 

Each week, one team are designated as the Hunters. They have access to the latest GPS technology which they need to use in order to track down the other teams and tag them by activating a pulsating device known as the Talon. When the Hunters have captured two teams, the rest of the competitors vote on who stays and who goes through to the next stage of the competition. As the teams are eliminated, the Game Master continuously decreases the size of the playing field, making hiding spaces ever scarcer for those who remain. 

It's a sophisticated game of cat-and-mouse, & only one team can walk away with the $250,000 prize!

The show first aired in the US on July 30th, and airs on Tuesdays 9.8c on The CW (an American TV channel). Each and every week I look forward to seeing the next episode, the show is simply amazing!
