Before Christmas, Air Space (created by Go Ape) announced
they were to open a brand new trampoline park in Bentley Bridge (Wednesfield,
Wolverhampton).
Yesterday was the official launch, with media, local sports
clubs and LOTS of the public descending on Wolverhampton’s latest “go to”
activity. With over 100 interconnected trampolines, you are GUARANTEED to have
a lot of fun.
PRICE
Expect to pay around £12.95* (for 60 mins) the first time
you go. This includes a pair of the (yet to be famous) bright orange, Air Space
socks. The next time you go, you’ll have a pair of socks, so this reduces the
cost to £10.95. An absolute bargain for the amount of fun and exercise you do.
You can pay for longer sessions, however, after going a few
times, a 60 minutes session is just about enough. Any longer and you’ll
struggle to walk around at work the next day…

WHAT'S THERE?
If your argument to saving a few quid is “But I have a
trampoline at home?” then you NEED to check Air Space out. In the industrial
sized warehouse, there are:
Dodgeball Courts
Freestyle Trampolines
Parkour Area
Giant Air Bag
Ninja Run (think Ninja Warrior)
Performance Trampolines (Wall Walking)
AND MUCH MORE!
WHO CAN GO?
Anyone over the age of 5. There’s also a maximum weight
limit of 20.5 stone.
If you’re pregnant, under the influence of drugs or alcohol
or have a medical condition that is likely to increase your risk of injury, I’d
suggest staying off the trampolines for now.
There is a spectator area that overlooks the trampoline park
which is FREE (great for parents/guardians)
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Something comfortable. I always wear a t-shirt and tracksuit
bottoms. I’ve seen people there in jeans, but I really wouldn’t recommend them.
HOW TO GET THERE?
The address is Air Space, Well Lane, Wednesfield,
Wolverhampton, WV11 1TB
There are great links by road, rail and public transport. Plan your journey here.
THE STAFF
All VERY friendly and extremely helpful. I’m yet to meet an
un-friendly member of staff. They’re all very knowledgeable and are on hand to
help you improve on the trampolines, all you need to do is ask. They seem like
they genuinely are happy to be there (which is great, considering they’re
supervising you and your safety). I can’t say I’m not jealous, they get to jump
around and be happy whilst working, what more could you want?!
THE VERDICT
Overall, the place is amazing and not a bad way to spend a
couple of hours. Take care if you’re new on the trampolines (it’s drilled into
you during the safety briefing). It’s well worth the money and a great way to
spend a couple of hours outside the house. It’s also really good exercise. So
if you’re trying to shed a few pounds, head on down to Air Space Wolverhampton,
where else can you have fun and lose calories at the same time? The trampoline
park is an amazing addition to Wolverhampton, and I highly recommend the place.
